I believe photographs are among the most important things we have — second only to the people in them.
They’re portals through time and space: back to when your grandpa napped in his favorite recliner, when you played night games barefoot until your mom called you in for dinner. They conjure the smell of Old Spice and Tic Tacs that clung to your dad — memories you can feel just by looking.
Photographs hold space for love lost and people deeply missed. They are quiet proof that we lived and loved.
